The client, an IT company with regional outreach needed to appoint a PR Agency but its relatively small marketing team lacked the understanding of the PR scene in the region. Lonsdale Associates were assigned to manage the pitch process.
We spoke to specialist IT media in the region and found out which agencies provide the most relevant and substantial content. We also interviewed selected IT companies with different profiles but similar outreach to the Client in order to identify their PR agencies and the satisfaction levels. Based on the findings of our research we developed a list of agencies to be approached for the pitch.
A pitch brief was developed including mechanisms that prompt creativity and reveal the contestants’ strategic and management capabilities. An objective evaluation system was put in place which guaranteed maximum neutrality of the decision making process. A system of agency performance evaluation was developed and the Client marketing team was given an agency-client relationship management workshop. |
